Linux and BSD

Linux, with all of its derivates like Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat, SuSE, Mandriva and a lot lot more, more and more often becomes the operating system of choice on all kinds of computers.

No matter if these computers are small integrated devices for control purposes, mobiles, DVD- players, SAT- receivers or huge cluster systems- households, companies and other institutions won't run without Linux. Nearly all components of the upcoming IoT generation use Linux as their OS.

But BSD systems like FreeBSD and OpenBSD e.g. are running on a steadily growing number of systems too. Both of them, Linux and BSD, are spreading in a manner today unimaginable some years ago. An end cannot be foreseen.
