Bootprocedure of an Extreme Networks switch

When booting an Extreme Networks Summit series switch the following steps are run:
1. Bootstrap
2. BootROM
3. ExtremeXOS Image

All images are kept in double, in a primary and a secondary version, on the switch. Both versions can be started and updated separately.

It looks like this when booting:

Extreme Networks Bootstrap and BootRom

Attention!!!
Any mistake may lead to a completely unusable and damaged device! If you are unsure ask your supplier!!!

Both Bootstrap and BootRom can be entered by pressing and holding the Space- Key when the corresponding message is displayed. To see these messages the switch needs to be connected with the serial interface and a program like HyperTerminal. The connection settings are 9600,8,N,1.
