Damaged Extreme XOS Image

In very very few cases it may happen that ExtremeXOS gets damaged when updating a switch- especially when you accidentially try to replace the running image with a new one. In case of that the switch hangs in an endless loop and funny error messages are displayed.
To reanimate such a device the following needs to be done:

1. First of all: Don't panic!!!
2. put an ExtremeXOS image onto a TFTP- server the switch can connect to
3. connect the switch to a PC using the serial cable
4. connect the management interface to the network
5. power on the switch and enter the BootRom (not BootLoader!)
6. configure an IP address for the management interface
7. download the ExtremeXOS image from the TFTP- server
8. install the image to the switch
9. reboot
10. take a bottle of red wine and have a nice evening

After internalizing step 1 again and again and finishing steps 2 to 5 you can continue with step 6:
BootRom > showip
